Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify patient education needs and goals through assessment and collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned units, focusing on the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning on admission and patient education in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status for continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics by providing calm direction and reassurance.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply and equipment needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed after orientation.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
