Afterschool Teacher Van Driver

Job Description
The Afterschool Teacher Van Driver plays a vital role in supporting a mixed academic and recreational afterschool program serving more than 20 students per session. This position combines student supervision, safe transportation using a standard passenger van, and classroom assistance to create a secure and enriching environment for children. The ideal candidate has experience in both student care and transportation, complemented by relevant education and training in early childhood education and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during afterschool sessions, ensuring safety and positive behavior
- Transport students safely to and from program activities using a standard passenger van
- Monitor student behavior and intervene appropriately to maintain a supportive environment
- Assist with classroom activities and support academic and recreational programming
- Implement safety protocols during transportation and program activities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in student care and transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
- Clean driving record with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Current Mandated Reporter Training certification
- Experience in student supervision and classroom assistance
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Effective behavior management skills
- Strong communication and safety awareness
- Live scan clearance
