RN Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical department provides comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from post-partum neonates to geriatrics. This role involves delivering direct and indirect patient care in a rural hospital setting, managing medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric patients. The RN will also have opportunities to cross-train in post-partum care, infusion and wound therapies, Emergency Department, and PACU. Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication are essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• 1-2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Willingness to earn Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and provide care per certification within one year of hire.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience or interest in post-partum care, infusion therapy, wound care, Emergency Department, or PACU cross-training.
• Familiarity with rural healthcare settings and diverse patient populations.

Scheduling:

• Night shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off.
• Shift hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
• Schedule follows a bi-weekly pay period.
