Senior Cost Accountant
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $100,000 to $140,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, cost tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting for manufacturing operations.
- Lead month end close activities by preparing journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain cost models, profitability analyses, and operational reporting to support strategic business decisions.
- Analyze production costs, variances, inventory activity, and operational performance to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance teams to support process improvements, cost optimization, and cross functional initiatives.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or a related accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting methodologies, and financial reporting practices.
- Previous experience with manufacturing environments, inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience within semiconductor, technology, manufacturing, or other complex production environments.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing variances, manufacturing performance metrics, and cost analysis.
- Previous experience with advanced costing methodologies, including activity based costing, target costing, and profitability modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self motivated professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
