Membership Engagement Specialist

Job Title: Membership Engagement Specialist Reports To: Vice President of Operations & Membership Development FLSA Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Hourly rate: $22 Position Summary The Membership Engagement Specialist plays a key role in strengthening relationships between the Chamber and its members by providing excellent customer service, proactive outreach, and meaningful engagement opportunities. This position supports the Chamber’s mission of Building a Stronger Business Community through retention efforts, onboarding new members, and connecting businesses with programs, events, and resources that enhance their success. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and thrives on building relationships that help businesses feel valued and supported. Key Responsibilities Member Engagement & Retention Serve as the primary contact for current members, ensuring they receive consistent communication and value from their Chamber investment. Conduct regular outreach calls, emails, and check-ins to maintain strong relationships and track engagement. Coordinate and execute the Chamber’s member retention plan, ensuring timely follow-up prior to renewal dates. Identify at-risk members and work with leadership to develop personalized retention strategies. Maintain up-to-date records in the Chamber’s CRM. New Member Onboarding Welcome new members with orientation calls, email introductions, and onboarding materials. Ensure new members are introduced to Chamber programs, committees, and events to maximize engagement early on. Collaborate with marketing to highlight new members on social media and in Chamber communications. Program & Event Support Support membership-based events such as Good Morning Corona, Commerce & Cocktails, Workshops, and other key Chamber events. Assist with registration, setup, and event logistics. Promote upcoming events and programs during member outreach. Track participation to identify trends and engagement opportunities. Administrative & Team Support Maintain accurate membership data, renewals, and billing information. Prepare reports on membership trends, engagement metrics, and retention performance. Assist with member communications, newsletters, and updates. Provide staff support for major Chamber events and community initiatives as needed. Qualifications Corona area/business community knowledge a plus. 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, or community relations (Chamber or nonprofit experience a must). Strong interpersonal and communication skills – comfortable engaging with business leaders and community members. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office suites and social media a must. Positive attitude, professional appearance, and team-oriented mindset. Ability to lift 30 pounds. This position requires some early morning, evening, and occasional weekend hours for Chamber events and member functions. The Membership Engagement Specialist works onsite at the Corona Chamber of Commerce and reports directly to the Vice President of Operations & Membership Development.
