Shift: Night Nights; 7:00PM - 7:30AM

Candidate must have current Trauma 1 experience listed by the facility and EPIC experience.

Job Description:

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Essential functions include:

• Performing all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implementing procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Completing initial assessment upon patient admission and developing appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs.
• Implementing plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modifying plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
• Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicating with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
• Offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and conferring with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
• Identifying own learning needs and taking initiative to begin appropriate solution.
• Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies.

Department specific job functions include:

• Floating to various inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs (if applicable).
• Completing Unit Nurse Leader Training, as needed.
• Providing direct nursing care, collaborating with other multidiscipline team members to provide patient care to various patient population.
• Conducting and documenting assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implementing and evaluating patient care.
• Precepting staff from various units as needed.
• Coordinating care to multidiscipline team members to facilitate and provide the highest possible quality patient care.

Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.

Required Education:

• ASN

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
• ACLS (American Heart Assoc.)
