We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our busy Hematology/Oncology practice.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment, providing excellent patient service, and managing multiple responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a warm and professional manner
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Verify insurance and assist with patient registration and check-in/check-out
- Process and follow up on insurance authorizations and referrals
- Demonstrate knowledge of insurance referral and prior authorization requirements and processes
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, medical records, and other documentation as needed
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate patient information and documentation
- Handle a high volume of calls and patient interactions while maintaining excellent customer service
- Perform other front-desk and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Previous medical receptionist or healthcare front-desk experience required
- Knowledge and experience with Athena strongly preferred
- Knowledge of insurance referral and prior authorization processes required
- Familiarity with insurance verification and obtaining necessary approvals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment
- Professional, dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented
- Experience in hematology/oncology or another specialty practice is a plus
