Part-Time Babysitter – The Nanny Loft

Location: Lehigh Valley, PA and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-Time | 3–35 hours per week

WHAT THE ROLE IS

One day, you might help an infant settle into their routine. Another, you might pick up school-age children, help with homework, and turn an ordinary afternoon into a good one.

The Nanny Loft hires babysitters to care for children in the homes of families across the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. You’ll work with different families, learn what matters in each household, and become someone parents can count on. This is a part-time role. Hours may range from 3 to 35 per week, depending on available assignments and your availability.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children of all ages, including infants.
• Follow each family’s routines, including feeding, naps, playtime, and homework.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games.
• Safely transport children to school, activities, appointments, or playdates when requested by the family.
• Assist with light household tasks and basic meal preparation as needed.
• Administer medication with parental consent when required.
• Maintain open, accurate communication with parents about daily activities, meals, and any incidents.
• Adapt to varying schedules across multiple households, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re warm with children, dependable with parents, and comfortable learning a new family’s way of doing things. You communicate clearly, stay organized when plans change, and take the responsibility of working in someone’s home seriously.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum three years of childcare experience, including infant care.
• Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Current Mandated Reporter Training required.
• Current Car Seat Safety Training required.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and current auto insurance.
• Reliable personal transportation required.
• Physically able to actively care for an infant, including lifting up to 50 lbs., engaging in floor-level play, and moving quickly to ensure child safety.
• Knowledge of infant safety, safe sleep practices, and child development.
• Physical examination completed within the last 12 months required.
• Must provide proof of current required vaccinations (including but not limited to Td/Tdap, MMR, HepA, HepB, PCV, and influenza).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND RESOURCES

To be considered for this position, candidates must currently hold Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification, Mandated Reporter Training, and Car Seat Safety Training.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT

A physical exam completed within the last 12 months is required. Candidates must submit a completed Pennsylvania Child Care Staff Health Assessment Form (CD-322). Download the form HERE
