Overview This internship is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through the fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). The internship requires a minimum of 12 weeks full‑time (40 hours per week) on‑site. It is intended for students actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full‑time positions, not internships. International students must confirm their work authorization and ability to work 40 hours per week through CPT. Many may be limited to part‑time during the academic year. Multiple locations are possible: Fremont, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Austin, TX; Reno, NV; Lathrop, CA; Buffalo, NY. What You'll Do Tesla is seeking highly motivated post‑secondary interns to develop and engineer new processes and high‑volume automation equipment. You will work closely with internal Product Design, Operations, Facilities, Production and Quality Engineering teams and coordinate cross‑functional design activities with tool vendors to develop new Drive Unit, Power Electronics, Charging, or Battery Manufacturing equipment. You will assume full ownership of the design and technical transfer of the line's tools to Tesla Operations, qualifying them for use with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output.
