Reading Interventionist (26.27 School Year)

Position Overview At KIPP St. Louis you will work with students and school teams to identify and support students who need extra support. You come every day equipped to improve student outcomes, identify and support students in small groups, and create targeted plans for student success! You’ll collaborate with classroom teachers, the student support team, and school administrators to identify and support students to find their pathway to the futures they choose. Position type Full time, exempt, 10 month Grant Funding Through the 2026-27 school year What you will do Provide and deliver focused reading intervention instruction to students in small group settings. Develop and deliver lesson plans appropriate to the needs and abilities of assigned students through push-in or pull out instruction. Use a variety of instructional techniques and reading materials appropriate for the age and skill level of students for the purpose of improving student outcomes and achievement. Assists with the screening and evaluation of students. Frequently monitor progress of students receiving intervention services in order to adjust instructional practice through multiple data systems used by our district. Collects data to share with classroom teachers. Participates in monthly professional development sessions. Attend GLC meetings and parent meetings as required. Attend and lead professional development opportunities to support students and the school. Provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses. Provide the high quality instruction time needed to move students to grade level proficiency. Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the school administrators. Travel Requirement -travels to school buildings and professional meetings as required. Follows all district policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrated success as a teacher at least 3 years(REQUIRED). Appropriate teaching certification (REQUIRED). An uncompromising belief that all students can learn. A relentless work ethic and a high degree of patience to push through difficult challenges. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and instructional leaders. Ability to build and manage strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including teachers, school leaders and regional staff. Technological proficiency and adaptability. Excellent organizational skills. The desire and humility to grow as an educator. What we bring to the table KIPP St. Louis is committed to pay equity and to ensuring that we do not unintentionally perpetuate historic wage gaps that persist due to individual negotiations. As a result, salaries are not negotiated. We are transparent about salaries in our job postings so that candidates can make an informed decision before beginning the hiring process. Starting salary for first-year teachers with a bachelor’s degree is $50,500. $0 deductible healthcare plan option, including medical, vision, and dental. Employer Paid Short-Term Disability. $50,000 life insurance policy at no cost to the employee. Retirement plan through PSSRSSL with an employer match up to 14% and an optional 403b as a supplement to our pension program Public Service student loan forgiveness program qualified employer.
