Boston Whaler - Security Officer

Position Overview Location: Boston Whaler - Edgewater, FL Workplace Category: Onsite Travel Required: No Direct Reports: No Pay Range: $18.59 - $28.30 per hour Visa Sponsorship: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Relocation: No This role is part of the Security team. As a Security Officer you will patrol the facility, monitor video and fire systems, investigate incidents, guard access points, log activities, respond to inquiries, and ensure the safety and security of staff, guests, vendors, assets, and the environment. Essential Functions Patrol facility on foot, ensuring safety and security of staff, guests, vendors, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter in all weather conditions. Investigate and take appropriate action on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activity, safety, and fire incidents per policy. Monitor video and fire systems, alerting authorities when needed. Address infractions of company rules or policies and forward to appropriate management. Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry and directing employees during shift changes. Complete daily operation logs and incident reports, including relevant information and observations. Answer phones and respond to other inquiries at the security office. Required/Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Helpful, courteous attitude. Proficiency with computers and aptitude to learn new software and systems. Experience with security equipment and video monitoring systems. One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience. Proactive team player, self‑starter, good problem‑solving, and adaptable to unexpected challenges. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with multiple priorities and people. Working Conditions Office and production floor environment; office climate controlled, shop floor non‑climate controlled. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust, epoxies, composites, chemicals. Required to wear safety glasses and use PPE on production floor. Must walk or stand for extended periods and ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, lift or move up to 35 lbs. Vision required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. Moderate noise level in work environment. Shifts Variable schedule: 8‑ to 12‑hour days, 4‑ or 5‑day week. Overtime may be required. Boston Whaler reserves right to adjust shifts. Hourly premium shift differential for night/weekend shifts. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $18.59 to $28.30 per hour. Base pay varies based on experience, skills, and business needs.
