Software Engineer

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

In most instances, this position requires in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for optimal usage of gigawatts of DC capacity across all internal & external customers over multi-year time horizon.
• Lead talented junior engineers to drive policy, propose technical designs, write software, identify and address software defects, and measure success of the system. Provide 1-1 guidance and mentorship of junior engineers.
• Work closely with business teams to develop and drive policy changes in tandem with the technical roadmap. Align with partner and cross-functional teams on dependencies and joint commitments.
• Drive the software development process including coding, review, design and architecture discussion. Communicate technical impact to the broader ecosystem.
