Marketing Assistant

This position works with Oregon Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health & Aging (OCEBHA), its related programs, and program managers to create marketing and communication documents. Duties include maintaining the OCEBHA website, posting to different social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram), facilitating website edits, creating email templates through MyEmma, creating a monthly newsletter, and creating marketing materials.

Responsibilities include: posting to social media weekly and advance planning of these posts, in collaboration with team leadership; monitoring the OCEBHA website; designing and updating marketing materials as requested; creating flyers, brochures, banner stands, social media posts, newsletters; and creating and maintaining design elements for research reports and other materials.

Minimum Qualifications from Classification: Four years of experience as an editor reviewing and correcting written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors and modifying copy to conform to standards of style, length and ease of understanding. Note: A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or related field may substitute for two years of the required experience.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position: Understanding of how to tailor digital and print design to a target audience; experience with website editing and/or design; ability to learn new platforms, tools, and design requirements. Examples include MyEmma, PSU's website builder, and digital accessibility concepts; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage projects with competing deadlines; and ability to work on projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with using MyEmma and Canva; strong understanding of both digital and print design; experience with website design; and undergraduate degree.

Work Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, up to 10 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on the business needs.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement: The starting salary rate for this position will be between $22.84 and $26.20 per hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. This on-call intermittent position is not eligible for benefits.
