Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care (Nursing)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
Unit Information
Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Number of Beds: 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds
Shift Information
Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Block Scheduling: Please note that scheduling may vary and is not guaranteed.
Patient Demographics
- Age Range: 18 years - Adults
Common Diagnoses
- Neurological Conditions
- Cardiac Issues
- Trauma
- Respiratory Disorders (e.g., COPD)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Sepsis
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Post-operative Care
Specialty Equipment
- Temp Pacers
- Chest Tubes
- Arterial Lines
- Bipap Machines
- Neptune Vapo
- Ventilators (for chronic patients unable to wean, with respiratory therapy assistance)
Qualifications
- Active New York RN License and all RN licenses
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- 2+ years of experience in IMCU or PCU
Additional Requirements
Floating to other units may be required based on patient care needs.
