Senior Account Manager

Aligned with Account Executive function to support renewal process and to act as primary point of contact for handling customer concerns, account issues and escalated support inquiries for defined group of existing Commercial accounts. Responsible for overall satisfaction and proactive retention of customers through knowledge of their core business and products and for ensuring solutions meet customer needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined book of business, managing escalated service issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Partner with SRMs and AEs to support renewals and new business processes, including financial analysis and reporting.
  • Educate and consult clients on Medica's programs, products, and administrative processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Lead and prioritize the work of internal teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements while aligning solutions with client needs.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in consultative sales or account management, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills that foster trust and collaboration. They will possess a deep understanding of healthcare and insurance products, particularly self-insured models, and demonstrate the ability to lead teams and influence both internal and external stakeholders. A results-driven mindset, combined with financial acumen and a commitment to client satisfaction and retention, will be essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in a senior-level consultative or relationship management role

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
  • Health insurance product knowledge
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve complex issues
  • State of MN Life and Health Insurance License, or obtain quickly after being hired
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $65,200 - $111,800. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $65,200 - $93,200. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
