Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Job Summary
We are actively hiring a Special Education Teacher (SPED) to support middle school students near Newberry, South Carolina for the 2026–2027 school year. This position focuses on delivering individualized instruction and supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs in a collaborative school environment.
This is a great opportunity for educators with experience or interest in special education services, IEP implementation, and classroom interventions.
Position Details
- Start Date: July 27, 2026
- End Date: May 28, 2027
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Setting: Middle School
- Location: Near Newberry, SC
Caseload & Programs
Middle school students receiving special education services
Caseload will include students with learning disabilities, behavioral needs, and/or mild to moderate disabilities
Combination of resource and/or inclusion support services depending on placement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized support in academic and behavioral skill development
- Implement evidence-based interventions and classroom strategies
- Track and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and South Carolina Department of Education standards
- Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching License required
- Experience in middle school special education or resource/inclusion settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, behavior management, and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $40-$45
- Pay is negotiable based on experience, credentials, and interview performance
