Laboratory Technician

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician in Midland, MI!

Hours are flexible and starting pay is $30 an hour. Responsible, under supervision of Lab Manager, for synthesis of PAMAM dendrimers as required for maintaining stock levels while remaining flexible to facilitate customer request. Typically works with hazardous chemicals and demonstrates safe handling practices. Maintains proper working conditions of laboratory equipment with the ability to trouble shoot and repair problems that arise. Performs analytical tests and is competent in interpretation of analytical result as pertaining to product quality control while keeping manufacturing data organized and up to date.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs and understands synthesis reactions utilizing Micheal addition, SN2 amidation, and where these reactions occur in the PAMAM synthesis process. Has a fundamental understanding of laboratory techniques and safe chemical handling practices.
• Properly operates evaporators, ultra-filtration equipment, and vacuum pumps, including regular maintenance.
• Meets production deadlines as pertaining to customer needs.
• Performs laboratory tests using HPLC, prepares and ships analytical sample of NMR and MALDI-TOF, competent in analysis/interpretation of text results as pertaining to product quality control.
• Maintains and organizes analytical data for purposes of manufacturing documentation required by lab and plant production.
• Communicates effectively by written and oral means with Plant Operator, Lab Manager, President, vendors, and analysts.
• Helps Lab Manager with maintaining supply inventories and lab cleanliness/organization.
• Uses Microsoft Office software to generate and access spreadsheets, documents, databases, shared file systems, etc.

Previous experience - Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
