Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an adult and geriatric patient population on a cardiac stepdown unit with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Manage and monitor patients presenting with conditions including post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler studies
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis as part of patient care responsibilities
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (Required) , Pyxis, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or a related acute care setting
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and SBAR communication
• Experience caring for patients with peripheral vascular disease or peritoneal dialysis needs
