Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform painting of various materials for interior and exterior applications
- Operate mobile machinery and equipment
- Metal fabrication to include layout, arc, MIG, TIG, plasma, oxyacetylene, sheers, punches, saws and rollers
- Mechanical repairs and operations of hydraulic systems for gates and valves, gear and race replacement for various mechanical equipment
- Safe work practices for working for height, near water, in confined spaces, trenching/excavation, equipment operation and lock out tag out
Physical Effort/Demands:
In the performance of duties, the employee may be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and often puts forth similar effort in pushing, pulling, turning and positioning parts, assemblies, equipment and tools. May be required to lift and move heavier items with the assistance of others and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes. Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling or sitting for extended periods of time may be required. May perform work requiring the use of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air filtration mask or other respiratory devices.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Work is performed indoors and in the field during mixed weather seasons and subject to variable terrain requiring increased physical demands to perform duties. May work in close restricted quarters. Works on or around moving equipment. May work in hazardous areas and with hazardous materials. The incumbent will be required to occasionally operate equipment and/or other vehicles in the performance of his/her duties and is completely responsible for their safe operation. Operates such equipment in compliance with applicable Bureau, Federal, State, County and Municipal laws and regulations. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and other applicable certifications, as well as notifying supervisor of expiration dates or revocations of licenses or certifications or changes in physical condition that would affect operational competency. Responsible for reporting all accidents in accordance with regulations.
