Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job PurposeThe Mechanical Engineer specializing in Rotating Equipment holds a position that involves overseeing the maintenance of rotating equipment at the Plant. This individual collaborates with various departments and station management to assess equipment condition, plan projects, and implement improvements to enhance facility reliability. The primary responsibilities include managing System and Plant performance, Mechanical Devices, Steam Turbines, Pumps, Valves, Piping, Supports, Material Handling Equipment, and Plant Auxiliaries using engineering principles to deliver technical support.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOffer technical advice to departments on processes, procedures, repairs, and projectsAssist in project development and material supply and installation evaluationsLead and assist in project execution to ensure budget and schedule adherenceCoordinate contractor activities for testing and maintenanceParticipate in various station programs and activities such as Root Cause Analysis, unit evaluation, outage planning, Safety Observation Program, Management of Change assignments, and 5-year budget developmentCollaborate with maintenance and contractors to interpret PdM data and implement corrective measuresSupport outage development, execution, and documentation for assigned equipmentMonitor equipment health and processes through participation in various meetings and trend analysisInterpret Blueprints, Technical drawings, Schematics, and Computer-generated reportsManage backlog of assigned Work OrdersEnsure compliance with all permits and regulationsTake ownership of decisions, performance, and behaviorQualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringSteam turbine experience preferredMinimum of 5 years' experience in steam power plant operationsStrong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical systemsProficiency in personal computers and software applicationsExperience with OSIsoft PI, AutoCAD, Intertek AWARE, Maximo, Emerson Ovation, TapRoot is beneficialAbility to work independently and collaborativelyExcellent communication skills, organization, and problem-solving abilitiesAptitude for managing stress and working flexible hours when neededComplete pre-employment exams, drug/alcohol tests, and background checksSupervisory RoleDoes this position entail supervisory duties?
