Technical Writer/Editor

To support the NIC Curriculum Modernization initiative, the part-time Technical Writer/Editor (Mid-Level) will manage and coordinate documentation throughout the course development lifecycle, writing and editing technical materials while collaborating with subject matter experts and instructional designers in a fully remote environment. Key responsibilities Plan, manage, and coordinate documentation across the full course development lifecycle Write, edit, and rewrite technical materials including user manuals, reports, and training collateral Collect technical data and produce clear technical illustrations while ensuring quality control standards are met Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field, or an Associate's degree with equivalent work experience 3+ years of technical writing and editing experience, preferably in training, software, or government documentation projects Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and rewrite technical manuals and reports Proven experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for instructional accuracy Strong familiarity with document quality control and industry style standards
