Job Description: This 13-week contract positions you as a MedSurg/Tele RN at a Level 1 Trauma Teaching Hospital in Macon, GA, with a focus on managing orthopedic and trauma patients, post-op surgeries, and those with acute or chronic medical conditions. The role involves handling complex patient cases such as fractures, head trauma, and co-morbidities like diabetes and hypertension, within a busy, team-oriented unit. Expect to perform chest tube management, IV insertions, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and post-op assessments. The shifts are 12 hours, with an average weekly commitment of 36 hours, and include work on some major holidays. The unit supports a variety of advanced technology and equipment such as EPIC EMR, Alaris infusion pumps, and Phillips monitors. Support staff like CNAs, a unit secretary, and resource nurses assist, ensuring a collaborative environment. You’ll be expected to have at least 2 years of MedSurg/Tele experience, BLS certification, and pass an EKG competency exam. ACLS and specialty certifications are preferred but not required.
