Overview This Central Valley healthcare organization is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for an exciting opportunity to join a highly active team delivering compassionate, community-focused care. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will step into a fast-moving environment where every day brings a mix of primary care, urgent visits, chronic care support, and meaningful patient relationships. Responsibilities The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will join a respected healthcare organization known for providing comprehensive care services across the region. This clinic offers ongoing primary care, onsite diagnostic testing, children’s urgent care, and treatment for illnesses and injuries, creating a true full-spectrum care setting for the community. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will work alongside experienced providers in a patient-centered environment that continues to expand access to quality healthcare throughout the Central Valley. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will provide primary and urgent care services including physical assessments, diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, laceration repair, suturing, wound care, and chronic disease support. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, educate patients on treatment plans and healthy lifestyle choices, and document patient encounters within electronic health record systems including Athena, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, collaborate on care planning, and support operational excellence throughout the clinic. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will report directly to clinic leadership and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and medical assistants to support efficient patient flow and positive patient outcomes. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will also partner with front office and care coordination teams to ensure continuity of care for patients transitioning between services and follow-up appointments. The Urgent Care Physician Assistant will practice in a very busy urgent care setting that sees roughly 60 patients per day, creating an energetic and highly collaborative atmosphere.
