Electrical Technician II – Multiple Shifts
Location: New Albany, OH 43054
Pay Rate: $29–$31/hour
Shift: Multiple Shifts Available
Shift Details
1st Shift – Monday–Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Front Half Days
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Back Half Nights
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary
Seeking an Electrical Technician II to join the Operations & Maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio.
This position performs at an intermediate level of expertise and assists with preventative maintenance involving heating and cooling systems, air and water systems, power supplies, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control systems, and monitoring systems.
The Electrical Technician II is responsible for prioritizing work based on client needs and completing work orders and associated documentation on time. The position also supports site engineering teams in meeting facility electrical needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current and future facility electrical systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control circuits from 24V up to 480V AC.
- Troubleshoot and work with electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs/ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) as necessary.
- Work comfortably near or around 13.8K voltage.
- Support facility electrical expansion projects.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems, including servers, network equipment, PLCs, system administration, access control, alarm investigation, and SCADA management.
- Assist technicians by reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and sequences of operation.
- Conduct system tours and assess equipment and systems for proper working order.
- Adhere to Federal, State, and Local electrical codes and maintain familiarity with NFPA 70E.
- Identify and correct safety-related issues.
- Perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
- Perform preventive maintenance on process and production equipment according to schedules in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Respond to work orders and provide service and feedback to customers while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work-related problems.
- Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Follow proper safety procedures, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and PPE requirements.
- Operate measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to support energy efficiency solutions.
- Use hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform assigned work.
- Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility with day-to-day activities and scheduling based on customer needs.
- Promote and adhere to the Amentum Safety Structure.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- 3–4 years of experience as an electrician in a data center, industrial environment, hospital, manufacturing facility, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights of 30 feet or higher.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and substance abuse test.
- Must be able to obtain a security access badge at the client's location.
- May require a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required.
- May be required to work holidays and weekends.
- Work schedules may change based on critical business needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Perform repetitive wrist movements.
- Walk extensively throughout facilities during the workday.
- Climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs as needed.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during the workday.
- Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
- Read and understand information contained in various documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Use office equipment and operate a computer keyboard to access databases, send/receive messages, and prepare documents.
- Communicate effectively by telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Demonstrate fluency in computer use, including the full Microsoft product line.
- Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner, including during periods of stress.
- Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other required PPE.
- Cope with job-related demands and workplace stressors while maintaining acceptable performance and contribution levels.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working around chemicals, precision equipment, and highly regulated materials and equipment.
- Experience utilizing measurement tools such as:
- Micrometers
- Dial indicators
- Various types of gauges
- Calipers
- Ability to set tolerances according to OEM specifications.
