Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team at Keck Medical Center of USC. In this full-time remote position, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive social work services for patients in our Detox Center. Our Detox Center team includes physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, all dedicated to a collaborative approach to patient care. You will utilize advanced telehealth tools and platforms to interface with patients, conduct assessments, and provide ongoing support, ensuring that you have the resources you need to perform effectively from any location. Key Responsibilities Psychosocial Assessment: Conduct timely and comprehensive psychosocial assessments by utilizing your knowledge of human behavior and psychosocial factors to identify patient needs, ethical issues, and treatment barriers. Clinical Interventions: Implement clinical interventions that include supportive counseling, facilitating family conferences, and helping families navigate complex decisions such as end-of-life care and patient placement. Triage and Case Management: Effectively manage a diverse caseload that includes identifying high-risk situations and coordinating discharges in collaboration with case managers to ensure smooth transitions for patients. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards: Uphold professional ethical standards and legal guidelines during assessments and interventions, including addressing issues of suspected abuse and maintaining patient rights. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, following organizational policies and procedures, including progress notes and interdisciplinary care plans. In-Service Training: Provide educational sessions for hospital staff on psychosocial issues, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by patients. Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives by monitoring and analyzing process indicators that inform organizational strategies for enhancing patient care. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in various functions, including the organization of social work events, support groups, and educational programs, fostering a community of support for patients, families, and staff. Patient Population / Client Focus You will primarily serve patients undergoing detoxification and treatment for substance use disorders, navigating the complexities of their recovery journey. Engaging with patients from diverse backgrounds, you will address their unique psychosocial needs, helping them build coping strategies, access community resources, and improve their overall quality of life. Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program. At least two years of experience in a medical setting, with a strong preference for those who have worked within a cancer care environment. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) status in California and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, along with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Must complete Fire Life Safety Training within 30 days of hire if not already certified (specific to LA City). Preferred Experience Experience working with cancer patients or in addiction recovery settings. Demonstrated competence in conducting family meetings and providing crisis intervention. Familiarity with community resources and support services for patients facing substance use disorders. Prior experience in educational program development and execution. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000 , commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
