Location: Southern Oregon Coast, ORSalary: $40,000 - $60,000The Financial Advisor Trainee will work closely with our experienced advisors and planning team to learn the fundamentals of comprehensive financial planning. This is a structured, hands-on development path for someone with relevant industry experience and a genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals. Over time, the trainee will take on increasing responsibility, working toward becoming a fully credentialed Financial Advisor at the firm.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport senior advisors in conducting financial assessments, gathering client data, and preparing financial plans.Assist in analyzing clients' income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and overall financial picture.Help prepare investment, retirement, tax, and insurance-related recommendations under the guidance of senior advisors.Participate in client meetings to observe and learn the financial planning process.Assist with portfolio monitoring, plan updates, and ongoing account maintenance.Provide client service support as needed, including responding to client requests and helping resolve day-to-day account or service issues.Conduct research on market trends, investment products, and planning strategies.Help prepare materials for educational workshops.Support business development efforts, including networking, referral generation, and helping identify opportunities to grow the client base.Learn and apply relevant financial regulations, compliance standards, and firm policies.Build foundational skills in client relationship management and communication.Work toward relevant industry licensing and/or certification (e.g., CFP) as part of a defined growth path.Take on progressively greater client-facing responsibilities as skills and experience develop.QualificationsBachelor's degree strongly preferred (four-year degree).Work experience in a related industry such as banking, mortgages, insurance, legal, bookkeeping/accounting, or tax preparation.Professional sales experience, or experience in a client-facing, relationship-driven role.Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in financial planning/advising.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities.Willingness to pursue relevant certifications (e.g., CFP) as part of professional development.A collaborative, coachable attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced advisors.
