Service Specialist, H2

Job Title: Service Specialist – H2 Hourly, non‑exempt field service position responsible for providing aftermarket service and support of Plug Power’s GenFuel hydrogen utility infrastructure at customer sites. The role requires proficient technical and troubleshooting skills in electro‑mechanical and industrial gas systems, training of field service technicians, and serving as a critical interface with customer stakeholders. Core Duties and Responsibilities Perform detailed surveys of the Hydrogen infrastructure at customer sites. Maintain and service H2 systems at customer sites. Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to guide customer service support personnel. Execute specialized service procedures including liquid tank repairs and vacuum jacket line repairs. Interpret wiring and piping diagrams. Provide emergency support service to customers as required on their H2 systems. Train and supervise personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of Hydrogen infrastructure. Provide customer training on their H2 systems. Diagnose and maintain high‑pressure hydrogen storage, delivery, and fueling systems. Conduct special assignments such as laboratory testing, field readiness demonstration testing, and marketing trade‑show support. Maintain ongoing communication with customer personnel regarding aftermarket support of hydrogen infrastructure. Provide regular feedback to company management regarding field maintenance issues. Complete administrative duties and documentation including expense reports, mileage logs, site and system documentation. Enforce safety procedures in the field and at customer sites. Represent Plug Power professionally at all times and in all interactions. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems, or a related field. High school diploma with 3+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. Ability to travel up to 100% of the time. Desired Skills Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Leadership experience, specifically in training and developing technical skills for employees. Uncompromising dedication to customer service excellence. Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail. Superior communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
