Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Tuition Reimbursement, Pet, and Legal Insurance 401k Community Service Day Spotlight Awards National Sales Excellence Awards CFSP Prep Certification Program Position Summary The Transportation Manager reports to the Vice President, Transportation Located in Lewisville, TX Full‑Time Hybrid The Transportation Manager oversees the transportation operations of the company, ensuring the efficient movement of goods while meeting customer service requirements and controlling costs. The Transportation Manager is responsible for managing transportation schedules, coordinating with carriers, optimizing routes, and resolving transportation‑related issues. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Transportation Operations Management Coordinate transportation activities, including scheduling pickups and deliveries, arranging shipments, and optimizing routes to maximize efficiency. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Carrier Management Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third‑party logistics providers to secure reliable and cost‑effective transportation services. Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Route Optimization Analyze shipping data and customer demand patterns to optimize transportation routes and minimize transit times and costs. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software to plan and execute efficient delivery routes. Shipment Tracking and Monitoring Track shipments in transit, monitoring progress, and addressing any delays or issues to ensure on‑time delivery. Communicate updates and status information to internal stakeholders and customers. Documentation and Reporting Prepare and maintain accurate transportation documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs paperwork. Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends, track performance metrics, and generate reports for management review. Problem Resolution Identify and resolve transportation‑related issues, such as delivery delays, routing errors, or carrier disputes, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimize disruptions and improve operational efficiency. Competencies Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve goals and objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions. Knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics terminology, and industry best practices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent military or practical experience. 6‑8 years of experience in transportation logistics, with a proven track record of success in managing transportation operations. Demonstrated expertise in carrier management, route optimization, and transportation cost reduction strategies. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance. Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job‑related compensatory factors. In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
