QA Tech / Pre-Op Inspector

Location: Norwalk, CA

Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour

Shift: 3:00 AM 11:30 AM (Monday through Friday)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, bilingual QA Tech / Pre-Op Inspector to join our food manufacturing team in Norwalk, CA. This early-morning role is critical for ensuring our production environment, equipment, and finished products meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards before and during daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily visual inspections of production equipment prior to operation.
• Perform ATP sanitation verification testing, allergen testing, and foreign material checks.
• Calibrate critical quality instruments daily, including pH meters, scales, and thermometers.

Process & Critical Control Monitoring:

• Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure food safety compliance.
• Review, verify, and confirm production formulas, ensuring correct ingredients and allergen controls.
• Inspect the packaging area, verifying product specifications, lot numbers, coding, and finished product pallets.

Product Quality & Sensory Testing:

• Monitor product specifications including pH, brix, and consistency.
• Perform mandatory daily sensory testing, which includes tasting all products daily (ranging from mild, medium, hot, and extra-hot salsas and BBQ sauces).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Language Skills: Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Able to communicate effectively with floor employees in Spanish, and write emails/participate in meetings with upper management in English.
• Technical Experience: Proven experience with instrument calibration (pH meters, thermometers, scales).
• Palate Tolerance: Must be willing and able to taste spicy products daily (hot/extra-hot salsas).
• Attention to Detail: Strong reading comprehension to accurately verify complex formulas and packaging codes.
