Mass Tort Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Mass Tort Litigation Attorney in Hamden, CT. The attorney will manage various litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and preparing for trials. They will collaborate with paralegals and case managers to ensure compliance with court orders and firm standards. High-performing attorneys may be considered for leadership roles in coordinated proceedings. Duties Develop and execute litigation strategies for mass tort cases. Draft, review, and file pleadings and substantive motions. Ensure compliance with case management and scheduling orders. Monitor and implement developments in MDL/coordinated proceedings. Provide direction to paralegals and case managers on litigation tasks. Identify and develop liability and damages proof. Assess and recommend appropriate venues and jurisdictions for filing. Support settlement and resolution efforts. Requirements Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Professional judgment and discretion. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation technology/tools. Education JD required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation matters. Substantial experience with complex litigation preferred. Certifications Admission to at least one U.S. state bar required. Skills Experience mentoring and supervising others preferred.
