Maintenance Manager The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all plant equipment, utilities, and plants to be maintained and operated safely and efficiently. The role involves recognizing the need for improvements and effectively managing the implementation of change, fostering collaboration and teamwork across plant departments and other divisions. Support for Land O'Lakes values and integrity in all plant activities, encouraging open and timely communication, and actively enlisting input from others are expected. Job Duties Ensure that the WWTP is operated safely and efficiently and that all regulatory requirements are satisfied. Serve as liaison with state and federal regulatory agencies and maintain good relations. Implement and control a sludge management program including dewatering, storage, sampling, disposal, and record keeping. Direct the service, repair, and rebuilding of all mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment plant-wide; maintain upkeep of buildings and grounds. Oversee and direct the preventative maintenance program. Maintain support services at a constant state of readiness and make recommendations to ensure adequate backup. Propose modifications, repairs, and new equipment installations as needed to maintain and improve operations, and oversee completion of these assignments. Maintain an energy‑tracking program to ensure optimal utilization, increased operational efficiencies, and reduced costs. Maintain close liaison with all other departments to ensure open communication and timely transfer of relevant information. Review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules, and assign tasks to the team. Develop and execute a training plan for maintenance workers. Ensure that maintenance jobs comply with all corporate policies and legislated regulations. Maintain adequate spare parts to ensure smooth plant operations. Experience & Education (Required) Bachelor of Science in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field and 5+ years previous experience in a manufacturing environment with broad engineering responsibilities (project management, maintenance supervision, design, utilities, etc.). In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of work experience with 5+ years in a maintenance leadership role. Food/dairy manufacturing experience highly preferred. Competencies & Skills (Required) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to combine information from multiple disciplines to identify problems and recommend solutions. Strong electrical background, including troubleshooting, repair, and schematic interpretation. Welding, fabrication skills, and millwright proficiency to support projects and repairs. Improving the function and reliability of facility systems through preventive maintenance, operating and testing systems, and restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components. Evaluating functionality and reliability of facility systems by consulting with operating departments to identify problems and requirements. Performing checks of the physical environment to determine necessary maintenance. Physical Demands Walking, sitting, using hands to handle tools, reaching with arms, balancing, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, speaking or hearing. Occasional lifting of up to 45 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Salary Range $107,680 - $161,520 (typically near the middle of the salary range when offered).
