Construction Project Manager

Are you a construction leader with strong concrete operations experience, financial management expertise, and a passion for delivering complex projects? This role offers the opportunity to oversee multi-million-dollar concrete projects, drive profitability, manage client relationships, and lead project teams within a performance-driven organization. As the primary operational leader, you will coordinate project execution, manage budgets and schedules, oversee contractual requirements, and partner with field superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable project delivery. The Project Manager serves as the central point of accountability for project performance, financial success, client satisfaction, and operational execution. This role provides significant autonomy and leadership responsibility, allowing you to influence project strategy, mentor teams, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute directly to company growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Full Lifecycle Project Management Lead projects from: Preconstruction Planning Procurement Scheduling Construction Execution Client Coordination Project Closeout Ensure projects are delivered: On Schedule Within Budget According to Contract Requirements Scope & Document Review Analyze project specifications, bid documents, and drawings. Review contract requirements and scope details. Establish project-specific execution, logistics, and safety strategies. Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans. Budget Oversight Manage project budgets and overall financial performance. Monitor: Labor Costs Equipment Costs Material Costs Subcontractor Costs Maintain financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Forecasting & Cost Analysis Develop and maintain project cost forecasts. Analyze budget variances and financial trends. Monitor profitability and recommend corrective actions. Protect and improve project margins through proactive management. Performance Reporting Review project financial metrics and performance indicators. Prepare reporting packages and project updates for leadership. Analyze post-project results and lessons learned. Scheduling & Production Management Schedule Development Develop comprehensive production and construction schedules. Coordinate project sequencing and resource allocation. Establish milestones and monitor progress. Operations Coordination Work closely with field leadership to ensure: Productivity Goals Are Met Schedule Commitments Are Maintained Implement recovery plans when project delays occur. Client & Stakeholder Management Customer Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Manage expectations through proactive communication. Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Pre-Construction & Alignment Meetings Organize and lead critical project meetings with: Clients Subcontractors Project Stakeholders Ensure all parties are aligned on scope, schedule, safety, and execution requirements. Contract Administration RFI Management Create, track, manage, and close Requests for Information (RFIs). Coordinate responses with owners, engineers, and design teams. Resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize delays. Change Order Administration Identify and evaluate scope changes. Prepare and negotiate change orders. Maximize revenue recovery opportunities. Contract Compliance Ensure project execution aligns with contractual obligations. Monitor risk exposure and contractual performance. Resolve scope conflicts and contractual disputes professionally. Field Leadership & Team Coordination Collaborate daily with field superintendents to support project success. Ensure field teams have the resources, information, and direction needed to execute effectively. Address operational challenges and remove obstacles. Team Development Provide guidance and leadership to project teams. Support development of assistant project managers and junior team members. Foster accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Project Types Oversee projects involving: Foundations Slabs-on-Grade Technical Oversight Interpret specifications and construction requirements. Review means and methods for concrete installation. Coordinate quality control and compliance activities. Ensure work meets design and performance standards. Required Qualifications Experience Minimum 5 years of project management or operations management experience in commercial concrete construction. Demonstrated success managing complex construction projects. Strong background in project financial management and cost control. Experience managing multiple project stakeholders and subcontractors.
