Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to deliver coordinated nursing care for patients in accordance with established standards. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supervising and directing the activities of nursing staff while collaborating with other healthcare disciplines to ensure quality patient care.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients. You will utilize critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment in your daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect relevant data regarding the patient's health status.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
  • Develop and implement care plans and interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate care delivery and promote a safe healing environment.
  • Evaluate progress toward patient outcomes and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers effectively.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families.
  • Contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Delegate and coordinate duties among healthcare team members.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of recent experience in acute care preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred/optional on first contract but required for extensions.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor.
Essential Skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to provide empathetic care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC.

Work Schedule

This position requires working day shifts, with a schedule of 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM and a weekend rotation. The unit requires staff to wear solid color scrubs.
