About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Finance to join their leadership team and play a pivotal role in enhancing the financial health and long-term sustainability of the organization. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, mission-focused professional with a collaborative spirit, capable of seamlessly transitioning between strategic board presentations and the operational details of accounting. This role demands a leader with a strong technical accounting background, a proactive and service-oriented mindset, and a passion for the meaningful work that the organization undertakes. As the VP of Finance, the primary responsibilities will include overseeing all financial operations, leading financial reporting, and managing the month-end close process, annual budgeting, and forecasting. The role also involves tracking various financial activities such as donations, grants, and capital campaign expenditures, as well as ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 7-10 years of progressive non-profit accounting and reporting experience, and a proven track record of working with ERP systems. Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential, particularly in the context of engaging with the Board of Directors. The VP of Finance will be expected to continuously improve financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy, and to serve as a trusted advisor to both executive leadership and the Board.
