Overview The Club at Windward is a premier lakeside destination featuring top‑tier amenities, including 4 padel courts, 6 pickleball courts, 18 tennis courts, 2 platform courts, 4 swimming pools, and a full‑service marina. We’re seeking certified lifeguards to keep the pool area a safe, welcoming experience. General Purpose A lifeguard's job is to keep people safe in or around the pool. This is done by actively surveilling the pool and the surrounding area. The lifeguard will be responsible for keeping the area safe by enforcing the club's water safety policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety. Actively surveil the pool to prevent accidents or injuries. Be prepared to take action if necessary. Enforce all pool‑related rules set by Windward Lake. Administer first aid as trained by the American Red Cross. Secondary Responsibilities Perform maintenance of the pool: Check chemicals. Skim the pool. Empty filter basket. Vacuum the pool. Follow the maintenance schedule as indicated on a daily basis. Straighten the pool area throughout the day, including setting up safety equipment, righting umbrellas, and wiping down chairs, picking up towels and garbage. Organize and monitor pool games as needed and participate in the games. Check first aid supplies and report needed items to management in a timely fashion. Maintain all necessary records determined by the department manager, including incident and accident reports. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance. Provide regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as required. Education / Experience Must be at least 15 years of age. Previous experience preferred but not required. Physical Demands Have met the requirements of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course. Frequently use hands, talk and hear. Regularly stand and sit. Occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste or smell. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Environment / Noise Works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non‑weather), near fumes or airborne particles, and near toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate. Certificates / Licenses Valid American Red Cross, Lifeguard Certificate, CPR Pro. Lifeguard certification must be submitted with application. Job Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Preferences Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job. The associates may be required to communicate with English‑speaking customers or co‑workers; manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English.
