Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing Java-based applications and backend services, with hands-on expertise in Java 11/17, Spring Boot, databases, RESTful APIs, and software development best practices.

 

Job Description

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend services and APIs using Spring Boot.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code in accordance with established software development standards and project deadlines.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain database queries and applications using Microsoft SQL Server and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations.
  • Work with Hibernate/JPA and Spring Data to implement effective data access solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing and technical best practices.
  • Debug and resolve application issues, software defects, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
  • Troubleshoot existing applications and make appropriate system changes to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Implement appropriate security and data protection measures in accordance with software development and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams, both remotely and in person, as necessary.
  • Respond to and resolve customer support tickets and technical incidents.
  • Document customer interactions, technical issues, resolutions, and workflow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop software specifications and performance requirements as needed.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, support new hardware or technology, upgrade interfaces, and improve system performance.
  • Work with engineering and technical teams to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software systems.
  • Advise customers regarding software system maintenance and assist with maintenance activities when required.
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum development environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage assigned tasks and priorities effectively while meeting established deadlines.
  • Shift: 9-5  Tuesday Wednesday Thursday in Office, Monday and Friday Remote Work

 

Skills Required

  • 2–4+ years of professional software development experience, preferably with Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 11 and Java 17.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem, including Spring Data and Spring Security.
  • Experience with J2EE/Jakarta EE technologies.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, and/or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB or Redis.
  • Experience with SQL and database development.
  • Experience with XML and related integration technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern version control practices.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and common design patterns.
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including business systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specifications, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose application issues, troubleshoot code, and provide effective technical support.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both individual and team-oriented environments.
  • Willingness and ability to interact directly with customers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred skills:

  • Strong professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development/build tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and/or Gradle.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with JMS and messaging technologies.
  • Experience with SOAP web services in addition to REST.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
  • Experience working directly with customers to investigate and resolve technical issues.

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

 

Pay Rate

  • $50 - $62 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
