Responsibilities

• Provide scrub and circulating support in CVOR procedures, with emphasis on cardiac surgeries; maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument handling
• Prepare operative setups, drape patients, assist with positioning, and manage instrument counts; pass instruments and implants as needed
• Support the surgical team and anesthesia team during procedures, including suctioning, retraction, hemostasis assistance, and equipment management
• Assist with specimen labeling and documentation; help with room turnover and readiness for subsequent cases
• Collaborate with staff across OR suites to maintain efficiency and patient safety in a fast-paced cardiovascular program

Requirements

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience in a Level 1 trauma center; prior circulating experience and strong scrub experience in cardiac surgeries
• Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts (0630–1900 window) as scheduled; willing to take call on holidays, with weekend rotations approximately 1 per month
• Credentials due one week prior to start
• Must be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment
