Senior Cost Accountant

A rapidly growing manufacturing company in the San Marcos area is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This role will partner closely with the Controller and play a key role in strengthening inventory, cost accounting, and operational finance processes within a complex manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible position for someone who enjoys digging into the details while also partnering cross-functionally with operations and leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, systems proficiency, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and analyze manufacturing cost accounting activities including: Inventory accounting Standard costing Cost variance analysis BOM review and maintenance Inventory reserves and reconciliations Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory and cost accounting Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and production teams to improve reporting and cost visibility Analyze manufacturing performance, margins, and operational trends Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial analysis Identify opportunities for process improvements, controls enhancement, and reporting automation Support ERP and systems-related initiatives within a highly integrated SAP environment Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and strategic projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on manufacturing cost accounting CPA or CPA track Deep understanding of: Inventory accounting Standard costing Operational finance Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required SAP experience is required and considered highly important for the role Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with operations and leadership teams Top tier public accounting background is required Strong analytical skills with the ability to move beyond transactional accounting into operational and financial analysis Fully onsite role located in San Marcos, TX High visibility opportunity reporting into a newly built leadership structure Opportunity to help shape processes and support a growing manufacturing organization Collaborative environment with strong exposure to operations and executive leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
