Full-Scope Family Medicine Physician
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full-scope Family Medicine physician (no OB) at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to join our residency teaching clinic. Provide high-quality primary care, supervise resident clinics, and contribute to an engaging academic environment focused on team-based care and patient outcomes. This role has both inpatient and outpatient teaching and patient care components. The candidate must be licensed in Florida and able to be credentialed as a participant in the MCOM Faculty Practice Plan who is privileged to perform the essential functions of a Family Medicine physician and be a Medical Staff member in good standing in the hospitals or health care organizations where they are assigned to perform clinical and/or teaching duties.
Responsibilities
- Education: Must participate in didactic education for residents and work with the department leadership to support undergraduate medical education initiatives.
- Clinical: The primary focus of this role is to support the residency based clinic as a preceptor, have individual clinics and support the family medicine inpatient team as an attending provider.
- Other Duties: As assigned.
- Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate, or Full Professor.
- The candidate must be licensed in Florida (or eligible) and able to be credentialed as a participate in the MCOM Faculty Practice Plan who is privileged to perform the essential functions of a Family Medicine physician and be a Medical Staff member in good standing in the hospitals or health care organizations where they are assigned to perform clinical and/or teaching duties.
- Experience in academic medicine preferred.
