Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a day shift travel contract at an acute care hospital and Level III Trauma Center in Washington, MO.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with comprehensive medical, surgical, obstetric, and pediatric services
• Registered Respiratory Therapist role within the respiratory therapy department
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend hours as needed
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in respiratory care, emergency care, and intensive care
• Current RCP license in the state of practice (license required if applicable)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation
• Experience with respiratory equipment including therapeutic gas administration apparatus and mechanical ventilators
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include setting up and operating therapeutic gas administration devices and mechanical ventilators
• Provides emergency care including external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Maintains patient identification and therapy charts
• Works in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the health system
• Basic nursery experience is a plus
• The facility is the only Level III Trauma Center between St. Louis and Jefferson City, as well as a designated Level II Stroke Center and Level II STEMI Center
• Black scrubs required
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be subject to a reduced bill rate
• Certifications must not be expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided
