Concrete Finisher / Laborer

This role focuses on supporting concrete construction projects from initial preparation through final finishing and curing. You will work hands-on with form work, concrete placement, and finishing tasks, while safely operating tools and equipment and contributing to high-quality, durable concrete structures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare work areas and materials for concrete construction projects.
• Set horizontal and vertical form work according to project specifications.
• Place, consolidate, and level concrete to ensure proper strength and finish.
• Perform concrete finishing tasks, including floating, hand finishing, and broom finishing.
• Monitor and carry out curing and protection of concrete to achieve desired performance and durability.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines on the job site.
• Operate company tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform general labor tasks related to construction and concrete work as needed.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete construction or concrete finishing.
• Concrete experience, including placement, finishing, and curing.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks in a construction environment.
• Experience using power tools safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of concrete work, including form setting and rebar work.
• Physical strength and endurance to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform climbing, balancing, and reaching activities as required by the job.
• Reliability in following safety procedures and site guidelines.
• Capability to provide and use personal hand tools required for the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in concrete finishing, including float, hand, and broom finishes.
• Experience in concrete form work and concrete construction.
• Exposure to rebar installation and related tasks.
• Basic carpentry skills for building and adjusting form work.
• Experience in landscaping related to concrete projects is an asset.
• Comfort working with a variety of construction tools and equipment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Work Environment:

This role is based on active construction sites with a focus on concrete work. You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, balancing, and reaching. The environment involves regular use of power tools, hand tools provided by the employee, and company tools and equipment related to concrete form work, placement, and finishing. Safety procedures are strictly followed to maintain a secure and productive job site.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grandview, MO.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
