Cloud Architect

Dark Wolf is seeking a Cloud Architect to manage and identify program high‑level technical specifications, with a primary focus on the installation, configuration, and operation of Command & Control (C2) software applications for the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS). This role will encompass application design, cloud computing strategy and adoption, and the integration of software applications into a functioning system to meet mission requirements. The position is located in Hampton, VA. Responsibilities Leading the installation, configuration, and operation of Command & Control (C2) software applications for the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS). Managing and identifying high‑level technical specifications for software applications, including defining system architecture, designing data models, and developing interface specifications. Building, installing, configuring, and supporting AOC C2 Applications and VM‑based systems across development, test, and production environments. Operating and maintaining cloud‑based infrastructure, provisioning and configuring cloud resources, monitoring system performance, and ensuring cloud security and compliance. Configuring AWS cloud resources manually and via automation to implement necessary compute, storage, network, and security configurations. Developing automation code using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to deploy, install, and configure applications on Windows and Linux servers, as well as containerized applications hosted in Kubernetes clusters. Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical guides. Required Qualifications 9 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience building, installing, configuring, and supporting AOC C2 Applications and VM‑based systems across development, test, and production environments. 5+ years of experience configuring AWS cloud resources manually and via automation. 5+ years of experience developing automation code using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes cluster deployments. Experience with modern Cloud Service Provider environments, especially AWS. Relevant experience to build operational information protection control environments in a cloud setting. Experience with centralizing, querying, and setting up alerts. Experience with programming languages such as Python, C/C++. Demonstrated experience with shell scripting, including Bash and/or PowerShell. Understanding of cloud security controls. Experience configuring and deploying a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins or GitLab CI. Experience configuring and deploying automated testing tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP DC, JUnit, and/or Snyk. US Citizenship and a Secret security clearance. Desired Qualifications AWS Solutions Architect certification (or equivalent Cloud Service Provider certification). Experience achieving ATO through the client’s Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. Experience working in a DevOps environment with close collaboration between developers and security personnel. Experience with Kubernetes environments. Previous experience supporting the DoD. Estimated salary range: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00, commensurate with experience and technical skillset.
