We are seeking an ambitious and highly driven Director of Business Development to lead new business growth initiatives within the logistics and supply chain sectors. This position is heavily focused on new customer acquisition, market expansion, and revenue generation.

The ideal candidate is a proven sales professional with a strong track record of identifying opportunities, developing relationships, and closing complex logistics solutions. This role is designed for a true hunter who thrives on prospecting, opening new doors, and building a pipeline of profitable business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive new business growth across transportation and logistics service offerings.
• Identify, target, and secure new customer relationships through prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, and industry engagement.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities within target markets.
• Generate and close business related to industrial and supply chain solutions.
• Lead the full sales process from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, contract negotiation, and account implementation.
• Develop relationships with senior decision-makers including Supply Chain Directors, Logistics Managers, Procurement Leaders, Operations Executives, and C-level stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations and pricing teams to develop customized solutions that meet customer requirements and deliver value.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and account information within CRM platforms.
• Consistently meet or exceed established revenue, margin, and new account targets.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities to support business growth initiatives.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of successful business development or outside sales experience within transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, 3PL, warehousing, or supply chain services preferred.
• Demonstrated success in a hunter-focused sales environment with a history of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to develop business opportunities and manage a complex sales cycle.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
• Ability to travel as needed to support customer and business development activities.
