R&D Formulator – Liquid Nutritional ProductsHands-on R&D Formulator responsible for developing, optimizing, and commercializing liquid nutritional products in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. Owns formulations from concept through production with a focus on speed, scalability, compliance, and product performance. This role requires strong technical expertise, a solutions-driven mindset, and the ability to execute with precision and urgency.Key ResponsibilitiesFormulate liquid nutritional products from concept through commercializationDesign formulations with a focus on stability, bioavailability, flavor, manufacturability, and cost efficiencyExecute bench trials, pilot batches, and scale-up activities to ensure seamless production readinessDrive cross-functional execution with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service from PO through final productionServe as the technical lead with customers—present formulations, guide product direction, and translate needs into commercially viable solutionsClearly communicate formulation strategy, trade-offs, and timelines while building credibility and trust with clientsTroubleshoot formulation and production challenges including stability, compatibility, and process deviationsEvaluate and select raw materials, flavors, and functional ingredients aligned with customer and regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and labeling standardsMaintain accurate formulas, specifications, batch records, and supporting documentationContinuously improve formulations, processes, and overall product performanceQualificationsProven experience formulating liquid dietary supplements within a CDMO/CMO environmentStrong understanding of ingredient functionality, solubility, stability, and flavor systems in liquid applicationsDemonstrated ability to take products from concept through commercializationExperience scaling formulations into manufacturing environmentsHands-on, solutions-oriented problem solver with a strong sense of urgencyHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWorking knowledge of FDA and cGMP requirementsStrong cross-functional and customer-facing communication skillsWhat Success Looks LikeFormulations move quickly from concept to production with minimal reworkProducts consistently meet or exceed expectations for taste, performance, and stabilityStrong cross-functional alignment drives on-time execution and deliveryOngoing innovation and optimization of liquid product offerings
