Billing Specialist

Coachella Valley Behavioral Health, Indio CA – Full Time Billing Specialist $27-30 per hour Coachella Valley Behavioral Health is a brand new, state‑of‑the‑art inpatient facility located in Indio, California. Compensation Compensation varies depending on factors such as location, role, and skill set. As required by local law, a reasonable hourly range of compensation is provided for roles hired in California. Essential Functions Request and process all bills to third‑party payors and patients, maximizing reimbursement of services to achieve hospital goals. Accurately and timely data entry of charges, payments, adjustments and other transactions to patient accounts (including both insurance and patient billing). Follow up with insurance companies on submitted billing to facilitate efficient cash flow of hospital receivables. Record A/R and miscellaneous cash. Prepare bank deposits and post cash and adjustments to patient records as required. Balance A/R and maintain supporting reports per department policy. Retrieve and perform electronic billing to insurance companies in a timely manner. Make follow‑up calls to insurance companies and guarantors as required. Perform additional functions and tasks as assigned. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements High‑school diploma or equivalent required. Additional college coursework preferred. Three years of business office experience, preferably in a hospital or medical office.
