Quality Assurance Engineer

Start date: ASAP Emp Type: Contract

Location: Resource must be in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end QA activities across multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploration across web, desktop, mobile, and API layers.
• Conduct comprehensive API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI (REST/SOAP services).
• Execute and manage mobile application testing on iOS and Android platforms, including device farms.
• Define, track, and report QA metrics, present status to stakeholders and leadership regularly.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and conduct peer reviews of test cases and automation scripts.
• Partner with product owners, developers, and business analysts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and enforce QA best practices across teams.
• Manage defect lifecycle end-to-end using JIRA, Azure, or equivalent tools.

Skills - Must have Required Skills & Tools

• Mobile App Testing, API Testing, JIRA, SQL, Agile / Scrum, SDLC & STLC

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on QA experience
• Proven multi-project management skills
• ISTQB certification preferred
• Epic certification is a strong plus
• Experience in healthcare IT domain preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
• Skilled at prioritizing in high-pressure, multi-deadline environments

Nice to have

• UFT, Tosca, Epic EMR and Selenium
• Good communication skills
