CNC Mill Setup MachinistThis role focuses on performing full CNC mill setups and production runs in a job shop environment using Doosan and Mori Seiki machines with Fanuc controls. You will receive prints, set up and program machines at the control, run short to medium production orders, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances through precise measurement and inspection.Responsibilities:Perform full CNC mill setups on Doosan and Mori Seiki machines using Fanuc controls.Program CNC mills at the machine, including live tooling operations and offline programming at the control.Interpret engineering prints and blueprints to determine machining operations, tooling requirements, and setup strategy.Edit and adjust G and M codes at the machine, understanding their function and impact on machining operations.Set up and run job shop style orders, typically ranging from 10 to 50 parts per order.Square up block material on mills and prepare raw stock for machining.Monitor machining operations to ensure tools are cutting correctly and perform tool changes and adjustments as needed.Read blueprints and adjust machine settings to achieve specified dimensions and tolerances.Measure parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other hand and power tools to verify quality.Perform in-process and final quality inspections, ensuring parts meet .002" tolerances and documented specifications.Assess existing programs, understand and verify code logic, and make necessary edits to improve performance or accuracy.Maintain responsibility for personal inspection tools, including micrometers and calipers, and ensure they remain calibrated and in good working condition.Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting innovative ideas and process enhancements in machining and setup methods.Essential Skills:At least 3+ years of experience performing full CNC mill setups, including live edits and a solid understanding of G and M code.Hands-on experience setting up and running CNC mills in a job shop environment with short to medium production runs.Proficiency with Fanuc controls on CNC milling machines.Ability to square up block material on mills and prepare stock accurately.Strong blueprint reading skills, including interpreting dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.Ability to consistently work with.002" tolerances and maintain high precision in machining operations.Capability to perform own quality checks and inspections on parts produced.Ownership and proficient use of personal micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.Experience editing and understanding G and M codes at the machine.Competence in using hand and power tools, gauges, and other standard machining and inspection equipment.Knowledge of CNC setup and programming fundamentals for milling operations.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Experience with full offline programming at the machine control is a strong plus.Familiarity with Mitsubishi controls is beneficial.Ability to set up and program CNC lathes in addition to mills is an advantage.Quality inspection and machining in a job shop or similar manufacturing environment.Comfort working with tight tolerances and precision machining processes.Understanding of tolerances, stamping, roll forming components, and die-related manufacturing is helpful but not required.Why Work Here?You will work in a very clean, temperature-controlled facility equipped with new, state-of-the-art machines and a modern, custom-built manufacturing environment. You will work with CNC mills (Doosan and Mori Seiki) using Fanuc controls, and may encounter Mitsubishi controls and CNC lathes. The operation emphasizes advanced equipment, updated processes, and a focus on quality, with a job shop style workload and short to medium production runs.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CLEVELAND, OH.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
