Service Engineer - Separation Equipment

About the Position Field Service Engineer based in Greater London, required to travel regularly across the UK with overnight stays. The role includes participation in an on‑call rota, covering one weekend in every eight. Responsibilities Maintain, service and repair SFT separation equipment at customer sites as assigned by the office. Ensure timely and efficient completion of all site service tasks and keep customers informed throughout. Prepare thoroughly for all site visits with necessary parts, tools and equipment. Use proper working methods and keep all special tooling safe, clean and operational. Communicate with customers, especially when issues arise that may affect costs, performance or equipment life. Assist workshop operations with service and repair tasks when required. Maintain clean and tidy working areas on‑site and in the workshop. Dispose of waste properly in line with customer and company guidelines. Complete all required reports accurately and promptly, in accordance with company procedures. Report any damage to tools, equipment or vehicles in a timely manner. Maintain the care and maintenance of company‑supplied equipment and service vehicle, ensuring it is maintained per manufacturer and lease company guidelines. Be available for necessary overtime, weekends, and regular engineering team meetings. Adapt to a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and pursue knowledge of company products and services. Gain hands‑on experience and training with separation equipment and processes. Qualifications and Profile Minimum City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Strong mechanical knowledge required; electrical knowledge a distinct advantage. Background in technical or process engineering. Solid understanding of health and safety practices. Ability to work carefully, methodically and safely, independently and as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Capable of working to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, flexible team player, confident and disciplined to work independently on‑site and in the workshop. Comfortable in a fast‑paced, changing environment. Competent in safe operation of heavy equipment with basic lifting and slinging knowledge. Physically capable to meet demands of a hands‑on, physically demanding role.
