Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend and some holidays required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care across all age populations in a fast-paced ED environment with 21 beds, including 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
• Manage IV access, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG monitoring
• Respond to and support resuscitation efforts, trauma cases, and cardiac, neurological, and stroke emergencies
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio while delivering care for common diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, and cardiac and neurological emergencies
• Utilize Cerner EHR for documentation and patient management
• Float to other areas as needed and participate in orientation beginning on Mondays

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; minimum ADN required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Proficiency in emergency nursing skills including trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Background in emergency medicine with exposure to a broad range of emergency presentations
• Psychiatric or behavioral health ER experience is a plus
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, dynamic environment requiring strong multitasking and team collaboration skills
