Details Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital setting with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage bays Facility performs 200-300 births per month Care involves fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Floating to postpartum required, including couplet care (newborn and maternal) when needed May float between sister facilities within the health system Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active CA RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted) Current certifications: AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM in lieu of AWHONN), ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM AHA certification required for ACLS/BLS Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Community hospital experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience required Skills required: labor and delivery management, assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, and sterile vaginal exam Scrubbing for C-section preferred 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a high-risk labor and delivery environment including antepartum, labor, and triage areas Perform postpartum couplet care (newborn and maternal) when needed to support staffing Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; L&D/OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local and may be offered a lower bill rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamlers and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility Only one submission to a Providence facility is allowed at a time American Traveler Job ID P-749555.
